With the clocks back an hour and the 7th of November already here, there’s a faint whisper of Christmas on it’s way.

If you are thinking of selling your home during the colder months, this may just work in your favour. As the technology and traditions is changing for estate agents. Selling your home during the colder months can be an advantage to yourself, as it allows your home to show off its cosy feel and warming personality.

Things to remember when putting your home on the market in the colder months:

  • Lighting

With the shorter days, it is vital that your home is well lit to create a warm and cosy ambience. Don’t forget to check all your outdoor lights and make sure they are all working. If the exterior is well lit, this will look appealing to any visitors.

  • Garden

With any viewing, the outside space also needs to look appealing for your families to enjoy the garden. Therefore, in this season any leaves ideally should be cleared from the garden and the guttering, as a build up of leaves in the guttering can cause blockages and leaks, which may be picked up during a viewing.

  • Decoration

Christmas season is nearly here and soon homes will be decorated with beautiful lights, trees and tinsel. One of the common questions that we get asked is “Can we decorate still?”absolutely. If you are looking to sell in the new year, it might be worth having the photos done before the decorations, in readiness for going on the market.

Even though the nights are drawing in and the temperature is dropping, it’s still a beautiful time of year to sell your property! If you would like a free valuation, or you would like to get some advice please contact the sales team on 01902 244200. Visit our Facebook page right here.
