Happy Halloween its the 31st October! It’s that time of year where you can transform your home into a haunted house, for one night only. Being able to decorate your home with ghoulish bunting, spider tinsel and pumpkins galore. Why not invite the neighbours for a fangtastic party and host a pumpkin carving competition? What a way to end the October month.

When searching for your next house, does the street name or house number have an impact? After listening to client’s feedback from viewings, a house number can put some home buyers off, such as the number 13! Is it unlucky for some? Here’s a short list of spooky streets listed in the UK:

  • Noose Lane – Willenhall
  • Gallow’s Hill – Warwick
  • Witches Walk – Bridgwater
  • Bats Lane – Dorset
  • Black Cat Drive – Northampton
  • Ghost House Lane – Nottinghamshire
  • Headless Cross Drive – Redditch
  • Hanging Hill Lane – Essex
  • Scarecrow Lane, Sutton coldfield

Personally, I feel that living on one of these streets adds character to the property. It is always a conversation starter with friends or potential buyers for the future! The street name will certainly be the one that people won’t forget. My favourite street listed is Black Cat Drive in Northampton. As a cat lover myself, this street would be a dream to live on and what a selling point!
